Everything you need to know about cooling in Kelowna & the Okanagan.
What's included
TruFinity installs, repairs and maintains central air conditioners and ductless mini-splits from every major manufacturer. Installations are load-calculated, refrigerant-charged by weight (not by feel), commissioned with superheat and subcool measurements, and paired with a smart thermostat as standard. Repairs cover failed capacitors, contactors, condenser fans, low-charge diagnostics, evaporator coil leaks, drain-pan floats, and control board failures. We top up refrigerant only after fixing the leak — we never just add gas and leave.
Signs you need it
Book a repair when the AC blows warm, the outdoor unit hums but the fan doesn't spin, ice forms on the copper lines, the breaker trips, or your electric bill jumps in June without a comfort improvement. Book a replacement when the system is 12+ years old and uses R-22 refrigerant (no longer produced), or when a major component like the compressor fails on an aging unit. Book a tune-up every spring before the first heatwave.
Our process
AC calls follow a strict diagnostic order: measure incoming voltage, verify capacitor microfarads, test the contactor, check refrigerant pressures against the target superheat/subcool for your equipment, and only then quote parts and labour. On installs, we size the condenser and coil to your Manual J load, run new line sets where existing are undersized or damaged, pull a vacuum to 500 microns, and commission with weighed-in charge.
Why TruFinity
Every install includes the Price Lock, Lifetime Workmanship, and No-Lemon promises. During the first 12 months, an eligible total no-cool loss is repaired within 24 hours or hotel costs are covered up to $250 per night for two nights within 25 km. All refrigerant handling is done by Red Seal-certified techs with current ODP tickets.

How much does a new air conditioner cost in Kelowna?+
A properly sized central AC installed in a typical Kelowna home ranges from roughly $5,500 to $9,500 depending on tonnage, SEER rating, and line-set condition. Ductless mini-splits are quoted per zone. Written quote provided after an in-home assessment.
Can you install an AC on a house with a mid-efficiency furnace?+
Yes — we install a matched evaporator coil above the furnace and a new outdoor condenser, sized to your load. If the existing furnace blower can't move the AC's required CFM, we'll flag that in the quote before you commit.
How often should I get my AC serviced?+
Once a year, ideally in spring. Coils lose efficiency as they load up with dust and cottonwood, and a capacitor that's drifted out of spec will fail on the first 35°C day. The $88 tune-up catches both.
Do you install heat pumps as well as traditional AC?+
Yes. In the Okanagan a cold-climate heat pump is often the smarter buy — it replaces the AC and offsets 60–80% of heating costs. See our heat pump page for details and current CleanBC rebates.
